TSU Offers Masters Management Information Systems

Texas Southern University’s Jesse H. Jones School of Business offers a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems (MIS). The MIS degree focuses on the use of information technologies in businesses and organizations.  New graduates of the MIS degree can expect to work as systems analysts, application developer’s database managers, database administrators, web designers, or IT helpdesk support personnel.

During the course of their study, students take courses in computer programming, database management, data communications, electronic commerce, enterprise systems and project management that equip them with the knowledge to manage the development and use of information technology in organizations. 

Graduates of the MS in MIS programs are equipped with the required skills in using computers, popular business software and their applications to business. They will also have an understanding of Supply Chain functions and selected MIS applications in that area.  Students will also possess the skill sets required to become knowledgeable users of at least one commercially available and popular MIS application with Supply Chain Management (SCM) focus; and have the skills required for analysis and determination of information requirements, and for developing Management Information Systems using commercially available application generators and packages.

Benefits for applying to the program include: a $1,000 scholarship to those who qualify, prospective internship opportunities with major companies, and in-depth knowledge on Oracle and System Analysis Program (SAP) applications.
