Dear TSU Student:

         Welcome to the Texas Southern University community.  We are excited that you have chosen to become a TSU Tiger.  Members of the TSU community are committed to providing you the assistance, encouragement, and support necessary for you to become a successful graduate of Texas Southern University

 The TSU family believes strongly in the concept of a holistic approach to education; an education that addresses the total person.  We want to assist in your development, to ensure that you are academically well-rounded, but also a responsible citizen.  It is our desire for you to be fully prepared to leave this environment with all the tools required to lead a productive life.  Texas Southern University offers a myriad of opportunities for growth and leadership experiences through your involvement in student organizations and activities offered at this historic institution.  We encourage you to take advantage of at least some of these opportunities so that your time will be meaningful and enjoyable.  We believe that your success at this great university will be dependent upon your interactions in the classroom as well as outside of the classroom.   

 I urge you to become familiar with the student Code of Conduct handbook, which is available in the Office of Student Services, located on the 2nd floor of the Recreation Center, and it is available on the TSU website.  It is your responsibility to become aware of the policies and practices contained in the Code of Conduct, by which you must govern yourselves accordingly.  Respect and appreciation for approved policies and procedures dictating proper decorum should be a hallmark for every TSU Student. 

         The Division of Student Services include:  The Office of the Vice President for Student Services, The Dean of Students, Student Housing, Student Activities & Programming, Judicial Affairs, Career Planning and Placement, University Counseling Center, The Student Health Center, The Recreation Center, The Trio Programs, and Student Government Association.  We look forward to helping you reach your goals, as you become a part of the TSU family.
