What we Do.
The Employment Compliance Officer is under the supervision of the Office of Human Resources, and works collaboratively with the Office of General Counsel to monitor University activities to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended (Title VII), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidelines, and the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) guidelines, as well as all university policies and procedures.
When conflict arises, the Employment Compliance Officer provides advice, counseling, and guidance to supervisors and employees on all employee-relations matters. The Employment Compliance Officer has a duty to oversee employee compliance and recommend appropriate disciplinary action for acts of non-compliance. In conducting investigations and handling employee relations issues, the Employment Compliance Officer shall maintain objectivity, integrity, confidentiality, and be free of conflicts of interests.
