TSU - Summer Academy is an 8-week intensive learning pre-college program. TSU – Summer Academy is designed to help incoming freshmen build reading, writing and math skills to achieve academic readiness for success in college level coursework and master all parts of the THEA exam while earning admittance into the University.
Summer Academy is mandatory for undergraduate applicants who do not meet the admission standards of the university.Those students mustsuccessfully complete Summer Academy to gain admittance into the University.
Update Change: University Admission Standards: 820-SAT (Critical Reading and Math Score), 17-ACT, 2.0 or higher – High School Accumulative GPA (4.0 scale)

Summer Academy Cost:$105.00 (Must be paid by Cash or Money Order only.)
Summer Academy Housing: Housing is not provided through Summer Academy, students must pay for housing out of pocket.

Students participating in Summer Academy 2009 have the opportunity to earn money through the Summer Academy Work-Study.While gaining practical hands-on experience and developing academically, students may earn up $1,160 with an on-campus job. Job placement is first come first serve bases.
Please bring the following documents to qualify for a Summer Academy Work-Study position:
1.Social Security Card (no copies, no laminated cards)
2.State Identification Cards
3.Birth Certificates or Authorization to work in US (no copies)
4.Proof of any form of income received with the last 6 months (26 weeks)
a.Public Assistance Award Letter or proof of receiving assistance
b.Paycheck Stubs for the last 6 months of income or Employment Income Verification
c.Current School Report Card
Eligibility for the work-study program is income based.The income guidelines are listed below.
